How it works
Banking by conversation.
No apps. No queues.
Fortune lives inside WhatsApp. You already know how to use it. Here is exactly how Fortune works, from the first message to your first transaction.
Step by step
From first message to first transaction.
Save Fortune's number
Add +234 900 000 0000 to your contacts, just like you would a friend. Open WhatsApp and start a chat. You do not need to download anything, create an account on a website, or visit a branch.
Fortune works on any Android or iPhone. As long as you have WhatsApp, you are ready.
Tell Fortune who you are
Fortune asks for your name, BVN, and a few details to open your account. The whole process takes under two minutes. Fortune verifies your identity securely using existing CBN-licensed infrastructure.
Your BVN is used for identity verification only. It is never stored beyond what is required by regulation.
Set your PIN
Choose a 4-digit PIN that authorises your transactions. This PIN is required every time you move money. Fortune never stores your PIN in plain text, and it is never transmitted outside of encrypted channels.
Your PIN is the only key to your money. Keep it private and never share it with anyone, including Fortune staff.
Say what you need
Type or voice-note exactly what you want done. "Send 20k to Chidi," "What is my balance?", "Show me my spending this week," or "Pay my DSTV subscription." Fortune understands natural language.
You can send voice notes in English. Fortune transcribes and processes your instruction in real time.
Confirm with your PIN
For any transaction that moves money, Fortune shows you a summary and asks you to confirm with your PIN. Nothing is executed without your explicit approval. No accidental transfers.
Confirmations are clear: recipient name, amount, and any fees are shown before you approve.
Done. Receipt delivered.
Fortune confirms your transaction and sends a clean receipt directly in the chat. Every transaction is logged in your history. Ask Fortune 'Show me my last 5 transactions' anytime.
Receipts are shareable. Forward them to your customer, supplier, or accountant from the same WhatsApp chat.
